1. The Fraser Clan
Simon Fraser - The Arrogant Leader of the Frasers
Played by Tony Curran, Simon Fraser is Jamie’s grandfather and the patriarch of the Fraser family. He, Lord Lovat, is a cunning and arrogant leader, detested by the MacKenzies. Though Simon accepts Brian despite his illegitimacy, the father-son relationship is not a desired one.
Davina Porter - The Maid-Turn-Lover of Simon
Simon’s wife is Davina Porter. She heads the housekeeper staff at Castle Leather and takes care of Lord Lovat’s staff. She had Brian with Lord Lovat through a non-consensual encounter.
Brian Fraser - The Thoughtful and Wise Fraser
Ellen’s future husband, Brian Fraser, is portrayed by Jamie Roy. Despite having an emotionally abusive father, Brian turns out to be lively and thoughtful, yet rational. He travels to the Great Gathering, where he meets Ellen and both instantly fall in love, but she is from the enemy clan.
Jamie Fraser - The Impressive Scottish Warrior
Like Claire, Jamie Fraser is absent in the Blood of My Blood series, yet remains a significant character in the family. Born to Brian and Ellen Fraser, he is the heir of the renowned Fraser clan, a Scottish warrior with an impressive personality. In Outlanders, we see Jamie falling for a mysterious girl, Claire, who has time-traveled back to the 18th century.
Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser - The Beloved Cousin of Brian Fraser
Murtagh is the fans' beloved Brian’s cousin and Jamie’s godfather. However, played by Rory Alexander, he appears as his younger self in the Blood of My Blood series. Murtagh and Brian are shown to have a deeper relationship; he even joins Brian at the Great Gathering.
2. The MacKenzie Clan
Red Jacob - The Patriarch of the MacKenzies
Red Jacob, portrayed by Peter Mullan, is Ellen’s father, Jamie’s maternal grandfather, and the Laird of the MacKenzie clan. He dies earlier in the Blood of My Blood without naming the future heir. His lack of a succession plan creates a rift among the children and becomes the plot of the series.
Anne MacKenzie - Consort to Jacob MacKenzie
Wife and consort to Jacob MacKenzie, Anne takes a secondary role in the family. You will hardly see her in the series, though her character is foundational in shaping the lineage of the family.
Ellen MacKenzie - The Born Leader Daughter
Harriet Slater as Ellen MacKenzie takes the role of a headstrong, proud daughter of Red Jacob and Jamie’s mother. While she fulfills every merit to lead the MacKenzie clan, her brothers’ ambitions and the patriarchy hinder her. Yet, she remains determined.
Colum MacKenzie - The Shrewd Son
Colum MacKenzie, played by Seamus McLean Ross, is Red Jacob’s elder son. He claims to be the leader of the clan, often displaying a shrewd and diplomatic character. Colum might be closer to Ellen, but no less ruthless. Despite all this, he struggles with a debilitating disease.
Dougal MacKenzie - The Stupid One
Ellen and Colum’s brother, Sam Retford, as Dougal MacKenzie, also assumes the leadership of the MacKenzies, like his brother. However, he is not rational, believes in strength, and jumps into battles without thinking. Dougal also does not enjoy a pleasant relationship with his father.
Jocasta MacKenzie - The Obedient Daughter
Played by Sadhbh Malin, Jocasta Cameron MacKenzie is one of MacKenzie's sisters and Jamie’s aunt. She is dutiful, honest, and sometimes jealous of the attention her elder sister gets. Though unhappily married to an old man, Jocasta takes pride in making this decision for her family’s advantage.
Janet MacKenzie - The Loving Jenny
Jocasta is often seen in the series with the youngest McKenzie sister, Janet, played by Alisa Davidson. She makes brief appearances with her sisters in the series, for instance, at Red Jacob’s funeral and the Great Gathering.
3. The Beauchamps
Henry Beauchamp - The Empath Patriarch of the Beauchamps
Henry Beauchamp, Claire’s father and Julia’s husband, is played by Jeremy Irvine in the series. He is a WWI soldier, thoughtful, caring, and always looking out for others. He writes an open letter to Julia for an escape, which begins their love story.
Julia Moriston Beauchamp - The Headstrong WWI-Era Officer
Hermoine Corfield plays Julia Moriston, Claire’s mother, in Blood of My Blood. She is an independent woman who dreams of getting a university education and voting rights. Her life changed during WWI when she met Henry, and together, they started a secret mission.
Claire Beauchamp - The Main Character of Outlanders
Born to Julia and Henry, Claire Beauchamp is the time-traveling heroine of Outlanders. Though she is not in the prequel, her character remains crucial to understanding the family tree. Initially married to Frank during WWII. However, after the chaos has ended, she ends up back in the 18th century, where she meets Jamie and the rest we all know.

Step 01 Access the Blank Canvas

Step 04 Add Pictures of the Members
Satisfied with the structure? Let’s move on and add pictures to your family tree. Pictures can add a sense of belonging to your audience, so they can better connect the dots and relate to the relationships.
- Visit the Insert tab from the top and click Pictures to browse one from the device.
- Or, copy one from the internet and paste it onto the canvas.
- You can now change the position, orientation, etc of the image from the on-screen menu.
Bonus Step Add a Smart Cutout of the Picture

Step 05 Label the Profiles
Let’s proceed to adding the profile information on the canvas.
- Double-click any topic box and start writing. Do not make these labels wordy or overwhelming for the audience to comprehend. Things like names, relationships, and date of birth are more than enough.
- You can change the font details (style, size, color, etc) from the on-screen menu accordingly.
Step 06 Customize the Theme
